Sea front car park, Prestatyn. Costs about £2 for the day, but sometimes all the pay and display machines are broken..

DISTANCE

21km. Ski to Colwyn Bay then by train back to Prestatyn. If the wind so dictates, start by taking the train to Colwyn Bay then ski back to Prestatyn.
Duration circa 5 hours.
Can be extended by including Rhos on Sea.

SURFACE/DESIGNATION

The start along the promenade can be a bit bumpy where the cast concrete blocks are nearly joined. The rest is on a good surface and follows the coast all of the way.

SAFETY DETAILS

Sometimes sand forms drifts on the track and can bring you to a sudden halt. Watch out for cyclists and moronic dog owners.

FACILITIES

Sea front cafes. At about half way there are rather dubious open plan toilets.
Good cafe in Rhos on Sea on other side of the road at the point where the cycle track ends.
More toilets along the Colwyn Bay promenade on other side of the road.

OTHER DETAILS

Scenic views out to sea.
Take M56 direction North Wales then on to A55 as far as St Asaph. Turn off onto the A525 to Rhuddlan and then take A547 to Prestatyn. Follow signs to Prestatyn railway station, pass the station on your left and continue towards the coast. Follow road as it bends right and goes parallel to the coast fo about a kilometre. Pass a big seafront hotel on your left and then on your left is the car park (just as the road bends back to the right)
