A 2 mile tarmacked track up the valley finishing with a climb up to join the waggonway, sadly still surfaced in ash. The tarmac is a bit knobbly for fast skiing but fine for touring/training.
Can be quite a few walkers and cyclists at weekends.
Free parking adjacent to the local tennis club.
A reclaimed coal sorting site, but now maturing into a pleasant and varied green space.
