From Stranmillis Lock, Belfast to Union Lock, Lisburn. Extremely scenic route through parkland, follows the River Lagan.

Tarmaced, flat trail the entire way. Very good surface from Stranmillis to 2km past Shaw's Bridge, suitable for classic and skating. It then gets narrower and the tarmac deteriorates from Edenderry village to 2 miles before Lisburn, where it is only suitable for classic skiing. Surface improves again towards Lisburn.
Isolated in parts.
Free parking at Stranmillis, Lisburn and Shaw's Bridge. Good pub at Stranmillis (Cutter's Wharf) which overlooks river. Occasional ice cream van at Shaw's Bridge.
Part of the Sustrans cycle network, in the Lagan Valley Regional Park.
